AMS-C ProjectThe AMS-C is a modified version of AMS-01 (STS-91 mission in June 1998) being realized by INFN-Perugia and Geneva groups for our colleagues of SouthEastern University of Nanjing, China. The AMS-C is a turnkey magnetic muon spectrometer consisting of 24 double-sided silicon ladders and time of flight (ToF) counters, flown on Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-91). After refurbishment, the silicon ladders will be placed onto 4 planes of a new support structure. The structure will then be inserted into the permanent magnet of AMS01 and 3 layers of ToF counters (2 up and 1 down) will cover the magnet free bore. All available documents for AMS-C project can be found in archive. |
